home building: Craftsman style doors

For our interior doors, we chose these Craftsman style doors with inset panels. We had debated about this style for a while and if it was worth a little jump up in price from the standard raised 6 panel doors.

We find ourselves consistently drawn to a lot of modern Craftman, Mission, or Shaker features and Troy and I both love the clean, simple lines of those styles. After a visit to some of our friends that recently moved into their new house and seeing almost identical doors to these in their home, we decided to go for them.

And when this door arrived (it's our fire resistant laundry room/garage entrance door), we knew we had made the right decision. We both love it! Though our interior doors will probably be white, I'm thinking of painting this one the same color as our front door - kind of a muted turquoise. Wouldn't that be cute and fun in a laundry room?!
